Our Process
We specialize in working with those who are preparing for, or are already in, retirement, and corporate executives with complex compensation packages.
At Drost Financial, we want the best for your financial future and only take on clients that we know we are the optimal fit for. Integral to our process outline below is our approach: we take things slowly, one step at a time ensuring we are both confident in our ability to meet your financial planning needs.
Step 1 - 20-Minute Initial Phone Call
We start with a phone call to determine if Drost Financial is a match with your specific financial goals and needs.
If we aren’t a good fit we will happily introduce you to other planners that we feel are better suited to assist with your situation.
Step 2 - First Real Meeting
The goal of this meeting is to get perfectly clear on your financial goals, dreams, and values. We will ask you questions (a lot of questions, actually) that along with financial documents allow us to analyze your situation and begin crafting your financial plan.
Step 3 - We Nerd Out
Why spend hundreds of hours studying and working as a financial planner if we can’t be our natural nerd every once in a while? We will take everything you gave us and everything you told us and begin answering your questions surrounding retirement, investments, taxes, and any other topics we covered during our first meeting.
Step 4 - Second Meeting
We will explain in plain English if you are on track to meet your goals and objectives and provide answers to your questions. This is where you will experience exactly how Drost Financial works with clients and where we will provide value to your financial life.
Step 5 - Think About It
We understand the magnitude of deciding to work with a financial planner and will not rush you into making a decision. We require you to take at least a day to think about your experience thus far to determine if we are the people you want to let into your world. Prior to entering a formal relationship with Drost Financial, you should know the answers to the following questions:
Do I like, trust, and respect the team at Drost Financial?
Will the benefit Drost Financial provides to my life exceed the cost?
Were the topics we reviewed easily understood and were the conversations a good use of our time?
